Description:
Situated on Tell el-Hassan, north of Tell es-Sultan, a synagogue brought to light in 1936 comprises a single-hall plan. Two parallel rows of pillars partition the interior into a central nave with two flanking aisles, while an apse at the southwestern end is oriented toward Jerusalem. The mosaic pavement, which avoids human and animal imagery, features geometric ornamentation together with Jewish symbols. Two inscriptions are preserved in the mosaic, both placed within the central nave.
