Description:
Referred to by Butler as the Convent Church, the structure dates to approximately 420 CE and was designed by Kyros, a prominent architect active in the region. It takes the form of a three-aisled basilica and is set apart from comparable examples by the disposition of its entrances: two on the southern side, two on the northern, and a single doorway to the west. For further reference, see H. C. Butler, Early Churches in Syria: Fourth to Seventh Centuries (Princeton, 1929), 53–55.
