date: 200 CE to 337 CE description: Inscription on a lintel in Jewish Palestinian Aramaic script. The text is engraved above decorative figures in relief: a spread-winged eagle in the right end of the preserved fragment, holding a wreath in its beak, head turned left; to the left of it is a fish, and a second fish is placed under the eagle's wing. Dimensions: 60 x 108 cm; Letter Height: 1.5-2 cm. ed. IIP dabb0005 עבד תרעה '[...] made the gate' "[...] hat das Tor gestiftet." Beyer 1984: 396 (ooDA4) commentary: The name of the builder/founder was probably mentioned at the beginning. The decoration suggests that this lintel was part of a synagogue.
