Description
date: Unknown. description: On a fragment of a basalt pilaster. Reused in a house, its owner declared that the fragment was brought from the basilica of as-Safīra. Letter height 4,7 cm, in low relief. Dimensions: H. 44 cm; W. 48 cm. First published by René Mouterde from a copy and squeeze by Brossé. ed. IGLS II 261. Cf. TIB 15, p. 1672. Ἀβρααμης Μαλχ... "Abraamis. Malch[- - -]." Commentary: Mouterde gives no commentary. Either two names or a name with a patronym. The poor state of preservation makes it very difficult to give reliable judgements on this piece.Probably a dedicatory inscription.
