Description

date: 5th century CE description: Two last line of a fragmentary preserved Greek inscription on mosaic located in the middle of the main praying hall. The beginning of the text is missing. The texts is formed with black tesserae against white background. The inscription is inside a medallion, above two menorot flanking a stylized mountain (Mount Gerizim?). The medallion is fitted into a geometrical pattern. The ornamental design is polychrome. The lines of the text were separated by horizontal lines. Dimensions: 62x187 cm. Letters are 4-7 cm high. ed.
