date: unknown. As in the case of the other Syriac inscription from this site, it should be roughly contemporary with the baptistery, very likely constructed in the sixth century. description: on the outer face of the lintel over the doorway of the baptistery. Dimensions of the entire stone: H. 13,5 cm; W. 62 cm. Letter height 3–8 cm. The lettering very similar to that of the other Syriac inscription found at the entrance. Unusual letter lettering. ed. Jarry 1967, 155–156, no. 28. Cf. TIB 15, p. 1338. ܝܢܐ ܐܛܝܘܟܝܐ[.. ‘… Antioche (?)’ (tr. J. Jarry) commentary: Jarry found it very difficult to read this piece. This may be the end of a dating formula where the date was calculated according to the era of Antioch, hence a a dating formula of the ܒܫܢܬ type.

Commentary

Jarry rightly expected that this inscription contained the ancient name of the modern village of Kafr Mū. It is truly a pity that the second part of the toponym is lost. Johannes Koder vocalized the name of the donor as “our master Denḥā".
