Description
A Syriac inscription was discovered at the village of Al-Bahta, approximately 25 km east of the city of Raqqa. The mapped point identifies Raqqa itself, a town that in antiquity belonged to the Roman province of Osrhoene. Further reading: Abou-Assaf, A. 1972.
