Description
Three monastic sites—known as the Southern Monastery, the Wastani (central) Monastery, and the Northern Monastery—survive only as ruins. They are situated along the western margin of the Al-Hurra lands that extend south of the town of Al-Dumayr. This group lies to the east of the line connecting the lakes of Al-Otaiba in the north and Al-Hayjana in the south. The Wastani Monastery is the one indicated on our map.
