Description
At Tell Bīʿa, located at the point where the Balikh joins the Euphrates, the Byzantine horizon is marked above all by a monastic complex that yielded two Syriac inscriptions. Earlier occupation is attested by architectural remains from the 3rd century BCE, brought to light during excavation campaigns in the 1990s. Further reading: Krebernik, M., 1991.
