Building type: church

Context:

church

Inscriptions:

345 , 346

Description:

Most striking is the western elevation, whose portal replicates a door by Kyros, a noted architect of the region. Both main fronts are largely intact: the west side survives in good condition, and the east retains its form except for the collapsed chancel arch. Within the interior, fallen columns and arches lie in situ, undisturbed since their collapse centuries ago. The monument—known as the East Church of Bāqirḥā—is dated to 546 AD.
