Description
Archaeological investigations at Bāqirḥā have revealed the remains of fifty-six brick-built dwellings dated to the second through sixth centuries. The settlement, situated on the slopes of Gabal Barisa, derived its prosperity from the manufacture and commerce of olive oil. Two ecclesiastical buildings formed part of the village, commonly designated the East and West Churches. Further reading: Tate, G., 2013. Les campagnes de la Syrie du Nord, Beirut, 153.
