Description
date: 543/544 or 550/551 CE (era of Antioch). description: Written from top to bottom in the east door-jamb of a private house. Expect for this doorway, the house is mostly destroyed. Dimensions: W. 0.69 m. Letter height 2–6 cm. Dimensions of the cross which accompanies the text: H. 13 cm; W. 11 cm. First recorded by the PAES and first published by Enno Littmann in 1934 with a drawing. ed. PAES IVB 54. Cf. TIB 15, p. 1348. ܒܫܢܬ ܚܡܫܡܐܐ ܘܬܫܥܝܢ ܘܬ[ܪܬܝܢ] . ܝܢ + ܘܬܪܬܝܢ or ܘܬܫܥ Littmann || 2. traces of three leters, maybe from ܬܪܬܝܢ Littmann, perhaps ܠܝܢ = Leon or Linos: Littmann, perhaps ܐܡܝܢ which is, however, unusual, Littmann ‘In the year five hundred and ninety and [two] (or: [nine]).’ commentary: Littmann probably rightly suppose that line two may contain the word ‘amen.’
