Description

Huqoq is an ancient settlement in the Galilee, situated roughly three miles west of Capernaum. The site’s foremost discovery is a synagogue from the Late Roman period whose floors are adorned with remarkable mosaic decoration. Archaeological work has been ongoing since 2001, conducted by a consortium under the direction of Dr. Jodi Magness of the University of North Carolina.
