Description
H. C. Butler identified Dār Qītā as a particularly clear exemplar of urban formation in northern Syria. The settlement occupies a position at the northern margin of the Gabal Barisa plateau and ranks among the principal sites of that region. Preserved remains within the town include domestic quarters, commercial installations with shops and a market area, three church buildings, and a watchtower. Source plan: Butler, H. C. (ed.), 1920.
