Description
A village registered in TIB 15 on p. 1850 as aṭ-Ṭuwayḥīna. Also spelt: Tall aṭ-Ṭuwayḥīna; Tuwayna; Twêné; Touainé. Our map gives the location of a larger nearby settlement Isrīya / Isriyé /Seriana Isrīya (= Seriana). The origin of this site is not clear and the information is scarce. Klaus Peter Todt and Bernard Andreas Vest in TIB 15 note the presence of two watchtowers, and a monastery (which is inferred through the contents of a Syriac inscription). No Greek inscriptions were found so far at the site.
