Description:

Classified as a public Samaritan synagogue primarily on account of its southwestward alignment toward Mount Gerizim—though Jerusalem lies on nearly the same bearing—the building featured a principal pavement of multicolored mosaic that incorporated an inscription, only part of which survives. The site is situated south of Bet Shean, approximately one kilometre west of the Jordan Valley Highway (Route 90). For further details, see CIIP V 7597.
