Description:
A mezuzah recovered at Tel Yavneh, situated 70–100 m south of the ruined mosque, was likely affixed originally to the doorjamb of a private dwelling. The argument for a domestic context, rather than placement in a communal structure such as a synagogue, is presented by Fischer, Taxel, and Amit (2008, 18).
