Description

date: late antique (probably 6th century?) description: Aramaic dedicatory inscription on the stone tablet. Text was carved in a porous pice of basalt. The porosity of the material can explain the differences that exist in the shape of letters. There is a narrow vertical band on the right edge of the stone fragment. The tablet could have been set into a wall or a lintel. Dimensions: 29 x 38 cm and ca. 20 cm thick. Letter high: 4,5 cm on average. ed.
