Description
In 1976, a substantial communal edifice was uncovered at ʿAsaliyye and has been interpreted as a synagogue. Earlier investigations at the beginning of the twentieth century, carried out by G. Schumacher, reported no Jewish remains at the site. Geographically, ʿAsaliyye lies approximately 13 km northeast of Caparnaum and about 3 km south of the modern town of Qasrin.
