Description

Situated in northwestern Israel, approximately 10 km north of Akko and adjacent to the present-day city of Nahariyya, the archaeological locality of ‘Evron (also identified as Khirbet Yanuhiyah) includes a Christian basilica explored in 1951. The church stands roughly 1.5 km inland from the Mediterranean shoreline. On current evidence, it may represent the earliest church yet uncovered in western Galilee.
