Description
Situated roughly 5.5 kilometers northwest of Jericho, the synagogue at Naʿaran came to light in 1918 following the detonation of an Ottoman artillery shell directed at nearby British positions. Within the building, inscriptions in Aramaic and Hebrew were recorded, while additional Greek epigraphic material was identified in the surrounding vicinity; see IIP Narr0001–0006 at https://library.brown.edu/iip.
