Description

Archaeological campaigns at Tel Masos in the 1970s, led by Yohanan Aharoni, Volkmar Fritz, and Aharon Kempinski, primarily investigated the Bronze- and Iron-Age occupation levels. Alongside this main objective, the excavations also exposed the remains of a Byzantine monastery located nearby in Area D. Tel Masos lies in the Beersheba stream valley, approximately 20 km east of the modern city of Beersheba. Plan source: Fritz V., Kempinski A. 1983, III, Plan 1. Further reading: Duncan, C. E. 2008.
