Description
Archaeological work at the site has primarily exposed Bronze Age horizons, with defensive architecture regarded as particularly imposing in the regional context. In addition, remains of a synagogue dated to between the fourth and seventh centuries were identified near the site of Tulul Farwana. Rehob lies in the Jordan Valley in the vicinity of Scythopolis. The settlement occupies two adjoining mounds—an upper and a lower tell—together covering an area exceeding 12 hectares.
